Cebu? B?

Two days after the wedding, we spent our so-called "honeymoon get-away" in Cebu. Our first time. :D I got a piso fare promo of Cebu Pacific last July! Yey!

Our trip to Cebu was fun and awesome. Though we weren't able to visit so much places there due to rain, it was still a 3-day smooth trip. :)

Straight from Mactan aiport, we went to Cebu City proper. It was a Sunday so first on the list of our itinerary was to attend mass in Sto. Nino. Hmmm...Cebu City is such a crowded place! Maybe because it was a Sunday and being surrounded with many churches hence the people.

In the city, we saw ofcourse the very famous Magellan's cross. It wasn't that big pala. Hehe! Oh by the way, most of the pics here are solo pics. Well that's because there's only me and Jom in this trip so no one's gonna take our pic together. Wawa. Thou there are some pics of us together---bunga ng sariling sikap sa pag-timer shot. Hehe! :D In the city, we were able to see also the Cebu City Hall, Plaza Sugbu, and Cebu Cathedral.

For our late breakfast, we ate at a local turo-turo in the area. The place was more like Quiapo in Manila. Hehe! :D

After we had our meal, we visited the very beautiful Cebu Cathedral. The altar's so beautiful! I love it! :)

Then we headed to Basilica de Sto. Nino to attend mass. The church is huge! It's so big but since too many people visit and attend mass there, they hold mass outside. We attended the last mass at noon around 1pm. Thank God it's in English, the rest is being said in Cebuano.

After mass, we went to a local supermarket to buy some food we can bring with us in the hotel. For late lunch we bought chicken from Tiktiklaok.

A box of chicken comes with puso already. It's rice wrapped in coconut leaves.

We also bought slice bread from a local bakeshop called Fountainhead and special Otap from Conching. Surprisingly, Conching tastes better than Shamrock Otap. I like its crispiness. :)

Because it's too hot already sa katanghaliang tapat and we're carrying all our stuffs pa, we decided to go to the hotel and rest first. I booked one room at Westpoint Inn few months ago. Room rate is suuupeeer cheap.

However, we were not happy with their room. :( It's not clean. The TV has no remote. I don't think the bath towels they provided us were new that we ended using it as door mats. Hay... Jomski actually wanted to transfer right away but since we're not familiar with the place, we decided to stay there over night and transfer to another hotel the following day. While in the hotel room, Jomski contacted the taxi driver who brought us in the city from the airport. Kuya Nestor offered us earlier that day a City Tour and so we bargained him since we're gonna skip city area since we're done touring around it already. Luckily, he agreed to pick us up 10am the following day and said he'll help us find a better place to stay in. :) Yey!

While waiting for Kuya Nestor the following morning, we had breakfast at the hotel first. We had longsilog, hotsilog, and hot chocolate. :)

Our first stop: Fort San Pedro
Fort San Pedro is located near Pier Area of Cebu. It is a military defense structure built by indegenous Cebuano.

Infairness, ang ganda ng handwriting ni Andres Bonifacio. :) When you're in Fort San Pedro, you'll see Cebu Central Post Office as well as Mariner's Court.

After Fort San Pedro, we went to Taoist Temple. It's a bit far from the area. Long drive actually. It rained when we're going there. :( But we still enjoyed touring around. :)

On our way to the temple, we passed by this huge and beautiful structure of Mormon Church.

The Temple is located in Beverly Hills Subdivision, Cebu. It is built by the Chinese community in the area. :)

After Taoist Temple, it's time to taste the yummiest lechon in Cebu---the CNT Lechon!!!

It was a little past lunch time so we really expected that the place is jampacked and it indeed was!!! :D

Kuya Nestor joined us for lunch, and as we take and take pictures, he said "Lika na kain na tayo wag na kayong magpicture." Hahaha! :)) Gutom lang si kuya?! :))

Hands down to CNT. Super duper saraaap! No need for sauce. I am not a lechon fan. I don't eat lechon in handaan. I never drool seeing a whole pig in foil. Never. But this one's a must try! Really really yummy! :)

After lunch, we headed to our last stop---the Mactan Shrine.

That's Kuya Nestor's Vios. According to him, his family operates that taxi line. Lucky us that the owner personally drove us. Kuya Nestor (0922-7833724) is at his early 50s. Makwento sya and we learned a lot from him. kabarkada nya ata si Lapu-Lapu at Magellan noon. Pati mga chismis ng Cebu government nachikka na nya samin. Hehe!

Ang nasabi lang namin sa Mactan Shrine was "Yun lang? Ito na pala yun." Hehe! Taas lang ng expextation. :))

Anyway, we didn't not stay there for long kase di naman super dami ng makikita sa Shrine so we headed to our hotel hunting na since it was late afternoon already. Kuya Nestor brought us to this newly-built IslandsStayHotels in Mactan area. Very near the airport which is a perfect spot since we're flying back to Manila na din the following day. :)

Doubling the price of our previous hotel gave us the uncompromised comfort. :) It's clean and comfortable. :)

The following day, we checked out from the hotel at 12noon and decided to stroll around the area before our flight.

We wore our Cebu shirts that we bought from Mactan Shrine. :) Cute! :D

We had brunch at a local food store in Mactan Marina Mall called Orange Brutus. It's like a Jollibee version of Cebu. Hehe! Reasonable meal prices though underman. Hehe! Parang dalawang crew lang ang nakaduty given the many people dining at lunch.

We ordered for burger steak, tocilog, and had this chocolate cake for dessert. :) In fairness, okay ang food. :)

From there, we took a jeepney ride to Mactan International Airport. I really wanted to experience riding a jeep there. Cheaper fare pala in Cebu. :) And the PUJ terminal is exactly there at the airport. Ang dali! :)

One last shot before boarding the plane. This photo was taken by the nagmagandang-loob na foreign tourist. He offered us to take a pic of us. Mukha ata kaming kawawa doing our sariling sikap shots. Hehe! :D

So that made our Cebu trip! :)
